Mythological and scientific origin of Mercury

The Budh paving way for social norms in the society illustrated scientifically.

It is common among many Indian folks addressing an individual to be a Budh. What does is actually mean? When something subjected in practice, without knowing its exact meaning, it is my habitual way to keep banging my head to find out the cause behind it. In the similar way, I kept researching about the term "Budh". Where does this term originate? This eventually made me to remember about the planet mercury, which has its name as "Budhan or Budh " in Hindu Mythology. This fact throws light on lot of route causes for many norms in the society. Lets me walk you through with an illustration to explain one among those norms created in the society. Now, I begin my illustration by revealing out the creation of the planet mercury both in mythological and scientific ways. It is an interesting fact to be read and known, for this tale spins around the metaphoric characters in the myths. When seen through astrological aspects, the planet Mercury denotes an individual's intelligence, analytical ability, creative and research skills but on the other hand it also denotes deep confusions when seated in certain houses with certain zodiac signs. Only when confusion arises, research works are undertaken which in turn give rise to one's intelligence. If this is all about mercury, from where does these natures emerge from? There is always a parental source for all natures in this universe. So, who are the parents of this planet Mercury? Here comes the very interesting result. The parents of Mercury are nothing but Jupiter, Moon and Tara. Now, you people started exclaiming "What? how come a particular outcome have three parents? This sounds something unusual among the social norms!" Ha Ha.. But, social norms are only for humans right? Yet your exclamation makes sense as the tale spins around human personified characters. Here, my answer is Mercury has one mother, one biological father and one legitimate father. The human personified parents are nothing but Jupiter known as Brahaspati, Moon known as Chandra and a Star named Tara. Even when the astrological aspects are concerned, the planet Jupiter is considered to be the most auspicious one. The similar scenario applies here, Brahaspati (Jupiter) was the one who does rituals and yagnas for Devas in order to maintain their survival against the Asuras to shower blessings on earth. It is said that Brahaspati( Jupiter ) does these yagnas and rituals with his wife Tara (Star). To his misfortune, once Tara left Brahaspati for being so workaholic natured persona and entered Chandra's ( Moon ) abode for the love and care showered by him towards her. At this point of time Brahaspati was unable to conduct the rituals without his wife. Hence, the Devas compelled Tara to return back to her husband. When she came back, she was found to be pregnant. The actual turning point lies here. One has to emphasis on the forthcoming facts keenly. No one around ever knew that who is the father of her child, whether Jupiter or moon ? She never revealed out this to anyone. The child was born, then the child started nudging his mother to point out his father. Jupiter was eager to know the answer but to his dismay, Tara uttered stating " You, my child was born to Moon ". Being frustrated, the Jupiter cursed the child to be neither male nor female and would be named as Budh which means confusion regarding its origin. Hence, Budh ( Mercury ) was born with confusion, being cursed to be a transgender, the scientific nature of mercury give rise to confusion of various kinds. Since, the child Mercury found his father, with a notion to clear his confusions, the nature of Mercury's placement in horoscope give rise to analytical thinking to reveal out the truth which means giving rise to one's intelligence. Another point to be emphasised is that Brahaspati asked his wife Tara to leave his abode for her dishonesty. This was seen by Devas which lead to their fear of being defeated by Asuras for Brahaspati wouldn't conduct Yagna's with his wife for their victory. This lead Indra to take a strong decision on this problem. He asked Brahaspati ( Jupiter ) to be Tara's husband forever and to be as a father for all her children irrespective of their bioligical and periodicity of origin. This was done since Brahaspati was her legal husband. From then on, this fact was continued to be one of the norms in the human society stating " Children born to a woman before or after marriage, were to be claimed as the children of her legal husband irrespective of their biological origin".

Adding spices to the above mentioned facts, the recent researchers have stated that the planet mercury is found to be emerged from Moon.
